IPL 2021: RCB opener Devdutt Padikkal on Indian jersey: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), opening batsman Devdutt Padikkal recalled when he played for India. He is currently in UAE to participate in the second phase of 2021 IPL. In July, he made his T20I debut for India on tour to Sri Lanka. The 21-year-old shared his thoughts on the Indian jersey in a video posted by RCB on social networking.

“The Indian jersey was given to us by the doctor in our quarantine room. It was my only possession for 4-5 hours. I was taking pictures and emailing them to my family and friends. It was an inspiring moment for me. In the video, Padikkal stated.
He was a young player who played for India in his youth and became the first Indian player to be called up after 2000. Star player also spoke out about an incident in his childhood when he refused to wear the dummy cap of India that his parents bought from the shop.
“I can still recall the day my parents bought me an Indian cap at the shops. It was given to me by my parents, but I refused to wear it. It’s not something I will wear until I have the real one.”
IPL 2021: Padikkal also mentioned that his coach, Mr. Nasir, had sent him the screenshot of his team, which included his name. He said that he called him immediately and was then greeted with good wishes by all. Since he was 11, Padikkal has been coaching him.
He was 21 years old when he became the top run-scorer for RCB in his debut new season. He played 15 matches in 2020 IPL for the red brigade and scored 473 runs. His economy was 31.53
Padikkal scored 195 runs during the IPL season and was rewarded with an economy score of 39.
