Redmi G-Series Gaming Laptop Launch in India as a Poco Product.

Poco may launch a gaming laptop in India, which is built on the Redmi G-series laptops. Here’s everything we know so far.

Poco may soon bring its first laptop to India. According to a new report, the company is changing its branding for an existing Redmi G-series gaming laptop and bringing it to India sporting the Poco brand.

According to a report from 91Mobiles, one may find an alleged Redmi G-series Gaming laptop of the G series on the BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) website. However, it has an unbranded battery from Poco instead of a Redmi-branded. The first time discovered the listing was through Twitter by tipster Mukul Sharma (@stufflistings).

Redmi G-Series Gaming Laptop may arrive as a Poco Product.

As per the leak, the model number of the laptop is G16B01W, which points to a 16.1-inch Redmi G-series gaming laptop that comes with a 3,620mAh battery. The computer is currently only available in China and is also available elsewhere through portals such as AliExpress.

Poco is currently selling only smartphones under its ‘X’, ‘M’, ‘C’ and ‘F’ series in India. Laptops may also be the first product that is not a smartphone in India. The brand was expected to launch its first truly wireless earbuds (another reported Redmi product) in India in 2020 under the name Poco Pop Buds, but the product never launched.

We have also seen Poco rebranding Redmi products before bringing them to India. Its Poco X2, its first product after it announced itself to be an “independent” brand, was built on Redmi K30. Redmi K30, while the recently announced Poco F3 GT, is the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition that was released in China.

It looks like the company will now take a similar step to launch its first laptop in the country. However, there is no other information available about the mysterious Poco laptop yet. If the computer is scheduled to sell in India shortly, we will see an official teaser or announcement soon.
