A case of fraud has come to light from Delhi through Truecaller. Thugs call people by making a customer care ID of a company and carry out the fraud.
Nowadays the cases of online fraud have increased a lot. Cybercriminals are always trying to cheat people in new ways. Criminals sometimes resort to WhatsApp and sometimes something else. Now a new case from Delhi has come to the fore of fraud through Truecaller. The Truecaller app is used by people to unlock or avoid spam calls. Now criminals have found a way to cheat people even more than this.
This is how Cheating Happens
According to Hindustan’s report, the police came to know during the investigation that these thugs are maintaining their IDs in the app under the name of customer care of banks and networking companies. In such a situation, when people call from these numbers, they see the name of the companies concerned. Because of this, no one doubts them and easily falls into the trap of thugs. Then by asking for banking details, the miscreants vacate the account of the people.
Not only this, but these thugs themselves also see the name of the person in front and their location through the trucker in their phone. In such a situation, when criminals call them by their name, then the person in front also thinks of the right of the company concerned. Then taking advantage of this mistake, the incident of fraud is carried out.
